Eye Examination Procedure
During your time with us the optometrist will examine your eyes using a variety of test procedures which are based on a professional evaluation of your visual requirements.
These tests will include:
At the end of the examination you are given a copy of your optical prescription with an explanation of the findings and recommended treatments for your vision and ocular health. We are always pleased to answer any questions that you might have about the examination.
The time it takes to perform an eye examination varies from patient to patient but is usually between 25 and 30 minutes.
Even if there are no apparent difficulties with your vision, problems may develop gradually over time and so go unnoticed.
Regular eye examinations are important to ensure that problems with the eyes and vision are detected. Also an eye examination can uncover a number of general health problems.
If you haven't had an eye examination within the last two years, we recommend you call us now for an appointment. We will examine your eyes thoroughly and answer any questions you might have about your vision.
Optical Coherence Tomography
It’s not just your vision we care about, it’s your health too.
We have invested in the very latest technology and can now study your eyes with incredible detail allowing early detection, diagnosis and monitoring of Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Detachments and much more.
Our fantastic new service is more than just an eye test, it tests your health. An OCT scan allows us to see beneath the surface of the back of your eye (the retina) which allows us to detect any sign of problems or disease.
OCT is an innovative imaging technique used to obtain high resolution 3D images of your retina. Our new system assists in early detection, diagnosis & monitoring of various retinal diseases, like Glaucoma, Age Related Macular Degeneration & Diabetes.
Please contact the King's Lynn practice to book your OCT and eye examination together.
